Coming Home

For the Vertex painting of the road, I created these three materials. Together with the puddles, that was created in Unreal Engine, they blended together nicely to create a more organic road.

For the Vertex painting of the road, I created these three materials. Together with the puddles, that was created in Unreal Engine, they blended together nicely to create a more organic road.

This was a piece I created over the course of 4 weeks halftime. The goal was to push my lighting and composition skills together with some more advanced vertex painting. This piece was supposed to give the feeling of finally coming home, with this being the final view upon arrival.

All assets and textures were created by me. Most of the materials are tiling which was created in Substance Designer.
The scene is rendered in real time in Unreal Engine 4.

The piece was put together with the help of feedback and tips from my fellow students and teachers at The Game Assembly, in which I studied Game Graphics during the course of which this piece was done.
